Learning to solve problems is the principal mathematical skill that students need to develop. Exposure to challenging problems, stimulating puzzles, and the associated mathematical concepts, is essential for the development of skills in problem solving. Math Olympiad is designed to develop such critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will work both individually and in groups to solve challenging, non-routine math problems specifically designed to develop critical thinking and analytic skills, and will engage in various activities which present problem solving as a method of inquiry and application. Most problems presented in the course will be at the level of Mathematical Olympiads for Middle Schools problems.
